OOPS. ah well the last week compleatly flew by. My life is going AWESOME right now. here's a quick run down off whats hapend in the last while:
-I went to the brouts ( my friends)

- Went to the gym
-plan to get my hair straightened
-hung out with yalini, ellen, my family, mari, and plenty of others
-SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL!

This sunday was unusually awesome. Usually sundays suck. They are stupid days filled with studying and getting ready for school. But yesterday was fun =] It was mothers day and I went to the Botanical Gardens, a tradition in my family, then we visited my grandma, and then I had a phone call with kanevil and went to bed. Good day.

Today I just went to school, and then I watched TV and then studying. Pretty typical. Except for my sister is making dinner tonight...i hope it isn't super nasty!!

Today was a typical day. In a way, it was kind of poetic...you know when you expect a day to be great, maybe it's graduation day, or wedding day, or your birthday. Then you expect it to be a great day. But when a day is just a typical day, and it is really great, that is the best. On those days, the beauty isn't in the suprise, it's in the expectedness, and the way everything goes so perfectly. I woke up nice and late, then I went to the Heathcote Carnival with my family, and saw a bunch of old friends. Then I went over to Yalini's house and studied for the SAT II's, and then we and my whole family went out to see the star trek movie. Now I am watching SNL. It was really a perfect day.

But besides today being so perfect I am really frusterated about something. I am reading the latest people magazine, and the cover story is all about Kirstie Alley and how she gained back her weight. It is so rediculous that THIS is what American women want to read aobut, the objectification of the weight losses and gains of another woman. This is what culture has come to, that with all of the freedom and influential power the media has, people magazine has a 5 page article thats one and only focus is putting this woman to shame in front of the whole country for gaining a little bit of weight. In this article Alley pretty much says that she would rather kill herself than continue to be this heavy, AND NOBODY ARGUES WITH HER. Nobody even offers the possibility that maybe, just maybe, there are more important things to worry about in life than how much you weigh. The problem also has a lot to do with the objectification of women in this country . Take Vince Vaughn for example. He was, at one point, a pretty heavy chap, but have you ever seen him on a magazine cover only to talk about his weight? Has he ever been overly-scrutinized? NO! BAsically what this article tells to me, as a young girl, is "Women should not aspire to anything besides the worthy goal of being skinny." WHAT A JOKE.

Today was honestly a great day. I love today. I love my school, my house, my friends, my town, my family ahaaa everything. Lol soo obviously i am happy. It was soo pretty out today...after school I walked to the village of my town with 2 of my friends, then later I went to see a sort of play thing at my school with a bunch more of my friends, and played rockband at my other friends house. =] =] =] ahh it was such a fun day. Now I am watching anderson cooper 360, my usual friday late-night routine hehe!

HIYA LJ. Today it is raining in new york. I LOVE THE RAIN. I am a complete and total dance-around-in-the-rain weirdo! Nothing makes me feel safer than sitting in my bed on a rainy night, with a comfy sweatshirt, watching a movie with my best friends. ahh so obviously i am happy. soo happy today. BUT OMG GUESS WHAT. This morning I discovered the most amazing thing in the whole world. CAFFINE. Ik, I am not the first one to make this SENSATIONAL discovery but wow, that stuff gives you tons of energy!

Ok so today I decided to talk about three of my favorite things: travel, photography, and fashion. I LOVE photography. I got a cannon eos xti for my 13th birthday and I have barley put it down since. Here are a few of my favorite photos. 2 of them were taken in switzerland, which I traveled to last year.

I really love travel too. I just think it is so interesting to explore the world and everything in it. I am really adventurous and I would love to travel anywhere and everywhere. I love seeing new places and meeting new people, but it is always nice to come home.

As far as fashion goes, I am obsessed. My style is sort of a mix between boho and super modern, but i am kind of all over the place. I love experimenting with different styles and clothes, and accesories. Maybe later I will post some of my cooler outfits =]

ANDD FINALLY (ik this is a LOOONG entry) I wanted to talk about my friend who is reading this blog. Lets call her Rain, considering she is obsessed with that weather condition hehe. Ok so Rain and I are identical biology loving, harry potter obsessed twins. She is the cooooliest person ever I LOVE RAIN.

So I was reading through all of my (few) entries and I realize, my life is pretty freakign boring. So considering my life today isn't all that interesting, I think I will rant about something else, and re-update you on my life when somethign worth talking about happens.

Soo 1st of all I wanted to make some recommendation. Books, Music, Food, and whatever. First is books. I am reading 2 really good books now. 1 is called feed, by M.T. Anderson...its kind of like 1984 but different. Lol its really good. And the second one is called Why Women Should Rule the World by Dee Dee Myers. That one is really political and feministic (obviously haha) anddd really really good.

Ok 2nd is music. What I am completly obsessed with right now is Kings of Leon and Silversun Pickups. Swoon (the new silversun pickups album) is beyond good. So is Kings of Leons latest album but latley I have been more into their old stuff. You can pretty much sum up my music tastes in 4 musicians, Kings of Leon, Silversun Pickups, Nirvana, Taylor Swift, and Lily Allen. OMG i am also soo excited for the new green day album...i think i am going to preorder it becuase the preorder comes with 2 extra songs!!

3rd is food. I don't really have much to recomend today seeing as I ate Pizza for dinner but last weekend I went to the most amazign restauraunt. It is is Manhatten, its called Amma. Best Indian Food I have ever eaten.

two, three, and four

ah well I broke my own posteveryday rule in the 1st week. Shame on me. so what have I been up to u ask? Well tons and tons. For starters on day 2 I went to bamboozle...SOO FUN!!! No Doubt was amazing (as expected) and I <3 Gwen Stefani!! And enter shakari was soo good 2. I chilled with my best friend (for all intensive purposes lets call her guru) which was really fun and we saw a couple of my friends from school too. So all in all a fun day. But we got back at midnight so one monday, day 3, i was pretty much dead. Totally unfunctional. So today, day four I went to the dentist...not the best. Then homework and stupid stuff...the usual. Alrighty well that is all thats going on now. But i am so excited because the best weekend ever is is 17 days!! what is gunna make that weekend so great? MY BEST FRIEND (we'll call her Knievel) IS VISITING AND SHE, ME,GURU AND EVERYBODY COOL ARE GOING TO THE HAMPTONS!!!

HIYA. well, this is the 1st day of my super-wicked-awesome year of blogging! It's saturday and I had a really great day. My friend Michelle came to visit from Holland so me and all of my friends met up with her at the mall and we went shopping. F-U-N. When I got home this afternoon I witnessed possibly the cutest thing ever. My dog had a doggie playdate! The neiboghrs form next door and across the street brought over their dogs and the 3 dogs ran around and played! It was soo adorable, I would show you a picture but my camera ran outta battery ;(. After that my family went out 4 sushi...aka my favorite food ever.
Unfortunetly today was not all good. Last night an old friend of mine's father passed away. He was only 44! I feel so bad for my friend because no one should have to go through that at 14 years old! Her dad was such a great man, he used to coach my soccer team and her mom was my girl scout troop mother. I've known her and her family literally as long as I can remember and it is so hard to believe that this happened. It is so unfair, bad things should not happen to good people. The first thing I think of when I think of my friend is her strength. She is such a strong person it is so wierd to think of her suffering like this. But she is such a strong, kind, and good person and I know she can get through this but it is so horrible that she has to.
On a lighter note, I am so excited to go to the bamboozle music festival tomorow!

Hi blog readers! I've never really blogged before so I don't really know what I'm doing but I guess I should start with the basics: I'm Maddy, I live in NY, I am a high school student, and um theres lots of other stuff about me that you will soon find out. Haha what can i say i'm mysterious ;) So I love writing and I've always wanted to make a blog but I figured nobody would read it so why bother. But today I was (am) really bored, and don't feel like doing any school work, and thus, a blog is born. Soo some stuff about me: I love photography, writing, skiing, my friends & family, music ( i play guitar), and plenty of other thigns that evade me at the moment. I like to think i'm quirky but some people just think i'm weird seeing as i enjoy eating ice, sitting on my roof, talking about polotics, and I sometimes burst into random long island accents (totally by accident) even though i'm not even from there. A lot of stuff has changed for me this year. For starters, I began high school, my Dad changed jobs, I switched friend-groups, and my best friend moved away. So this school year has been a bit rocky for me, but i have decided that this comming 365 days will be the best 365 days ever. And what better way to record the best year ever than in a blog. So I am no expert on blogging, but I guess I will take to the web once everyday for the next year and just talk about whatever is on my mind. I really hope you read this or all this blogging would be a bit pointless. Well i guess thats it. I have to go eat dinner. See you 2moro internet!
